I warmly welcome you all to the web portal of this newly established Institute of Higher Learning. The website shall be an effective window for our stakeholders to view our functioning and it shall act as the virtual Student counselor. I feel extremely privileged for being the founding Principal of this Institute and for availing the opportunity of playing my sincere role in laying a strong foundation of this Institute. Creation of this website is also an effort towards the growth of this Institution.

            I congratulate the people particularly the Student Community of Zainapora and its adjoining villages for getting the Higher Education facility in the form of this college at door steps. It is really a very auspicious gift and a welcome development for this entire area. Education is the most wonderful attribute imparted to humans that actually makes the best of all creatures. Acquiring education and seeking knowledge is our utmost requirement. In Islam seeking knowledge is mandatory and we owe our children the right to give them best formal education. But the lack of opportunities, amenities and socio-economic constraints in this hilly region of Zainapora are an impediment for getting higher education particularly female folk. According to the latest estimates, the literacy rate in Shopian district is only 51.18 %. Our college will remove these hurdles and provide an equal opportunity to all sections of society to avail higher education. This institute will prove to be boon for all-round Socio-economic welfare of this region.

            At present the college offers programmes at UG level in Arts and that too only in five Subjects but in near future more streams and subjects will be introduced. I foresee this institute emerging as a premier Institute of higher education in South Kashmir. The college will pursue its vision, Mission and Objectives and will strive to mould its students to be self confident and pragmatic. I wish the students exhibit exemplary behavior both inside and outside the college. They must be well disciplined and should in no way tarnish the image of this seat of higher learning. I am sure our students will always strive to uphold the dignity of our college and keep its flag ever flying high.
